The Flatline football jig has a custom over sized 30 degree hook that allows for better hook sets and a larger weed guard that helps to make the bait more effective in cover. The head shape allows for a very stable upright presentation that resit rolling over while on the bottom or in contact with heavy cover.
I test pitching and flipping baits a lot, which has led to me becoming quite picky about my selection. It takes a lot for me to suggest this type of bait to our readers because, quite honestly, many of them are nearly identical. Something needs to make a heavy impression on me in order for me to suggest it.
The V&M Flat Wild has done just that—it has boosted my heavy-cover confidence since I started tinkering with it. It’s a legitimate fish-catcher for several reasons.

Most anglers like lures that serve multiple purposes so they can carry less tackle and cover more bass fishing scenarios. Plastics often are designed with one purpose in mind, whether it’s dragging behind a Carolina rig or punching into heavy cover. I too have an affinity for plastics that can do a lot of different things and provide a lot of options for anglers. That’s probably the attribute I liked most about the new V&M Baits J-Bug.
